Nijmegen March – July 20-23, 2021
Due to the cancellation of the Nijmegen event in the Netherlands again this year, 4 Regt (GS) conducted their own march in New Brunswick as part of UBIQUE 150 celebrations, coinciding with the event in the Netherlands.

Puisque que la Marche Nimègue à été annulé encore une fois cette année, le 4 Regt (GS) a exécuté leur propre marche afin de souligner l’événement et les célébrations de l’UBIQUE 150.
Our UBIQUE 150 Canoe Expedition (EX UBIQUITOUS GUNNER 21) took place last week. The expedition exceeded all expectations as we achieved all our desired outcomes. The team led by BC D, Maj Josh Lynch and his A/BSM WO Wotherspoon did an incredible job maximizing the training value of this expedition. From the Jr Officers and Sr NCOs that led the planning and coordination with various civilian agencies to the Gnr/Bdrs who were responsible for planning, executing and leadership of the various legs. The weather held off for the duration of the trip, the team successfully paddled 150km in the 5 days (avg 30km/day) and were met at various points along the trip by 2 RCHA/RCA Alumni and various Royal Regiment family members and friends. All members that started the trip finished the trip which given the length of the paddle was also a huge win.
Overall an incredibly success training event for both 2 RCHA and the Royal Regiment in commemoration of UBIQUE 150.

Notre expédition en canoë UBIQUE 150 (EX UBIQUITOUS GUNNER 21) a eu lieu la semaine dernière. L’expédition a dépassé toutes les attentes puisque nous avons atteint tous les résultats escomptés. L’équipe dirigée par le C.-B. D, le Maj Josh Lynch, et son adjoint SMA WO Wotherspoon a fait un travail incroyable en maximisant la valeur de l’entraînement de cette expédition. Depuis les officiers juniors et les sous-officiers supérieurs qui ont dirigé la planification et la coordination avec les divers organismes civils jusqu’aux Artils/Bdrs qui étaient responsables de la planification, de l’exécution et de la direction des diverses étapes. Le temps s’est maintenu pendant toute la durée du voyage, l’équipe a réussi à pagayer 150 km en 5 jours (moyenne de 30 km par jour) et a été rencontrée à divers endroits du voyage par les anciens du 2 RCHA/RCA et divers membres de la famille et amis du Régiment royal. Tous les membres qui ont commencé le voyage l’ont terminé, ce qui, compte tenu de la longueur de la pagaie, est également une grande victoire.
Dans l’ensemble, un événement de formation incroyablement réussi pour le 2 RCHA et Le Régiment royal en commémoration d’UBIQUE 150.
Au nom du SMR et de moi-même, je vous remercie d’avoir soutenu le 2 RCHA dans la planification et l’exécution de cet événement.

UK Public Duties (26 Sept – 27 Oct)
The RCA will highlight its history within Canada and the Commonwealth by conducting UK Public Duties as Her Majesty The Queen’s Guard. 133 gunners mounted by 1 RCHA, to include participation by the RCA Band and other unit representatives, will provide a ceremonial guard for our Captain General. There will be a special ceremony held on the 20th of October 2021 in recognition of the anniversary of the signing of the Militia General Order 24 of 1871. This order established a permanent force in Canada, which, in effect, formed and A and B Batteries at Fort Henry in Kingston and La Citadelle in Quebec City.
Devoirs de service d’honneur Royaume-Uni (26 septembre au 27 octobre)
L’ARC soulignera son histoire au sein du pays et dans le Commonwealth avec des devoirs de service d’honneur à titre de garde pour Sa Majesté la Reine. 133 artilleurs, provenant du 1 RCHA, ainsi que la musique de l’ARC et des membres d’autres unités, feront partie de la garde ceremonial pour notre Capitaine-générale. Il aura aussi une cérémonie spéciale le 20 octobre pour mettre emphase sur la signature de l’Ordre générale de la milice 24 de 1871. Cet ordre a eu comme but d’établir la batterie A au Fort Henry, Kingston, et la batterie B à la Citadelle de Québec.
1RCHA rehearse for Queenʼs Guard this fall

An invitation from the Queen to visit England and perform guard duties comes at an opportune time for 1RCHA — UBIQUE 150 marks a milestone anniversary for A & B Batteries. Like 2PPCLI did in 2017 during PPCLI’s 100th anniversary and Canada’s 150th birthday celebrations, 1RCHA has commenced initial rehearsals for the Queen’s Guard this fall — soldiers honing their drill skills training and practicing this month prior to the arrival of British instructors, who will help them with their United Kingdom training.
The RCA Band / La Musique de l’ARC is in Edmonton, Alberta.
Our days are filled with uniform fittings, rehearsals and music prep for Public Duties in the UK! (26 Sept – 27 Oct)
