RCA Headquarters Funds

RCA Headquarters manages two non-public property (NPP) entities of the Canadian Armed Forces as defined by the National Defence Act. They are both comprised of monies collected for the purpose of supporting the non-public affairs of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery. As a Canadian Armed Forces NPP entity, both Funds are deemed by the Canada Revenue Agency to be “qualified donee”. As such, contributions or donations to either of the Funds attract Official Income Tax Receipts issued by RHQ RCA on behalf of the Canadian Forces Morale & Welfare Services (CFMWS) Non-public Funds Accounting Office in Shilo, MB. The Funds are governed and managed in accordance with Canadian Armed Forces NPP regulations and the Funds’ constitution. Expenditures are further guided by the RCA Family Strategy.

Fund

Donations are derived mostly from voluntary contributions by serving members of the Regiment, primarily members of the regular component who subscribe to the fund on a monthly basis by pay allotment. Supporters are invited to make a donation to the Regimental Fund which will be used for the support of such programmes, projects or activities as the provision of Regimental accoutrements and Regimental track suits to newly qualified members.

RCA Heritage General Revenue

Supporters are invited to make a donation to be invested to generate income for future undertakings or earmarked for the the support of specific current programmes, projects or activities focused on celebrating our heritage, nurturing the Regimental Family Institution and connecting with Canadians. Activities include the shared cost of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery Website and the monthly e-newsletter, The Canadian Gunner News.

Captain General’s Diamond Jubilee Bursary

The Captain General’s Diamond Jubilee Bursary was established in celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012. The bursary is available for qualified immediate family members of serving Primary Reserve members of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery. This includes spouse, son or daughter, or a person under the legal guardianship of a Primary Reserve member of the RCA. The RCA Heritage Fund underwrites the provision annually, of up to five $1000 bursaries.

Gunners of Canada – Volume III

Donation for the support of the publication of Volume III of The Gunners of Canada – the authorized history of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery 1967-2014. Volume I has recently been re-printed and the Volume II reprint will be available shortly.

Museum

The Royal Canadian Artillery Museum — Canada’s National Artillery Museum — is the only museum in the world dedicated to telling the story of the more than 200,000 Gunners who have served Canada. The award-winning RCA Museum is a Manitoba Star Attraction and one of Canada’s largest military museums

Royal Canadian Artillery Association

The RCA Association is an incorporated not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of the effectiveness and welfare of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery and of all matters pertaining to the defence of Canada. It is also recognized as a registered charity by the Canada Revenue Agency. As such, donations to the Association attract an Official Income Tax Receipt. Supporters are invited to donate to the RCA Association in support of the following activities.

Gunner Peer Support

The Gunner Peer Support Program (GPS) is dedicated to the well-being of all Gunners: regular or reserve, serving or retired or their immediate family members. The program is administered by the GPS Committee and comprises an all-ranks cross-Canada network of Gunners committed to helping comrades and family members in need with both financial and administrative support.

With a Few Guns

With a Few Guns: The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery in Afghanistan is an unofficial history of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery’s contribution to the Afghanistan War. The English language Volume 1 has been published with the French language translation to follow shortly. Volume 2 is currently being written with an expected publication in 2025.

OP Take Post 2025

The RCAA is supporting OP Take Post 2025, the 80th Anniversary Liberation of Holland Commemorative Battlefield Tour that is taking place from 2 to 11 May 2025. Charitable donations will go towards subsidizing the cost for current serving soldiers to attend this 10 day tour. Approximately 80 individuals, serving and retired, have signed up for this exciting opportunity.

RCAA General Revenue

Donations to the RCAA General Revenue assists in managing projects such as the publication of Volume III of The Gunners of Canada – the authorized history of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery 1967-2014, management of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery website, shared cost and publication of The Royal Regiment’s monthly e-newsletter, etc.

Master Gunner Residence

The RCAA is supporting the Vancouver Artillery Association’s efforts to reconstruct the Master Gunner Residence/Officers’ Quarters on Yorke Island, a Second World War Pacific coastal fortification.
