The Gunners of the 1st Canadian Division recognize the history of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery (RCA)
“What an auspicious occasion as here, we are at Fort Henry, where A Battery formed 150 years ago.”
The Gunners of the 1st Canadian Division took the time on Artillery Day to recognize the history of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery (RCA). They contributed to UBIQUE 150 year-long celebration to commemorate the many accomplishments of The Royal Regiment in a modest but meaningful way, by raising the RCA Standard at Fort Henry and by performing a gun salute courtesy of St. Lawrence Parks’ staff.
In the video, LCol Andy Wood, 1st Cdn Div Chief Joint Effects, RCA Deputy Regimental Colonel with CWO Robert Beaudry Master Gunner and 1st Cdn Div Sergeant Major address the gunners from coast to coast noting the importance of Fort Henry in The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery history. DSM Beaudry had the unique opportunity to fire the Fort Henry 6-pound Armstrong Field Gun.
