Artillery Day 2021 – Videos show local regiments commemorating UBIQUE 150

A, B and C Batteries – Videos show local regiments commemorating the establishment of the first Canadian Artillery!

The Gunners of the 1st Canadian Division recognize the history of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery (RCA)

“What an auspicious occasion as here, we are at Fort Henry, where A Battery formed 150 years ago.”

The Gunners of the 1st Canadian Division took the time on Artillery Day to recognize the history of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery (RCA). They contributed to UBIQUE 150 year-long celebration to commemorate the many accomplishments of The Royal Regiment in a modest but meaningful way, by raising the RCA Standard at Fort Henry and by performing a gun salute courtesy of St. Lawrence Parks’ staff.

In the video, LCol Andy Wood, 1st Cdn Div Chief Joint Effects, RCA Deputy Regimental Colonel with CWO Robert Beaudry Master Gunner and 1st Cdn Div Sergeant Major address the gunners from coast to coast noting the importance of Fort Henry in The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery history. DSM Beaudry had the unique opportunity to fire the Fort Henry 6-pound Armstrong Field Gun.

La Citadelle

5e Régiment d’artillerie Légère (5 RALC) Flag Raising at La Citadelle, Quebec

The flag raising ceremony took place at the Citadelle of Quebec, a place initially occupied by the artillerymen of B Battery at the time of its formation. The RCA standard will fly from May 26 to Dec 4, 2021 to commemorate the UBIQUE 150 festivities.

“Happy Artillery Day!”

« C Battery, RCHA was established in 1887 especially to come out west and assist the local citizens in building the fortifications.  They established the first Canadian Army Base at Workpoint Barracks. »

5th(BC) Field Regiment is excited to celebrate this year’s Artillery Day by raising the Artillery Flag at Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Site.
The Regiment is proud to be apart of the rich history here on Vancouver Island, since our establishment in 1883.
There’s no better venue anywhere to celebrate an important event like Fort Rodd Hill in Victoria. Today a contingent from our band completed a simple but poignant ceremony to mark the upcoming Artillery Day by raising our camp flag above this venerable historic site. Thanks to our director of music Captain Moses, Drummer Sgt Eng, Bugler M/Bdr Kseniuk, Bdr Spelt and former CO Phil Sherwin for making this all happen.
UBIQUE!
